The apartment is filled with digital technology, whispering an incessant low-level hum. Thirty-three electronic devices, enormously successful at creating noise. Not the noise of audio or video streams, but the noise of distraction.

Can they create a space of quiet within oneself? A place of calm, of quiet, but not emptiness. Even what is “empty” space is filled with air. Air you can breathe. A place of quiet where you are attentive. Where you are mindful.
